From 2 August 2021, it is no longer a legal requirement to carry a Green Card with you when driving in most European countries. This is because the UK has been added to the Green Card Free Circulation area.

However, if you’re travelling by car to Albania, Montenegro, Morocco, Serbia or Turkey, you’ll still need to carry a Green Card. If you’re travelling to any of these countries, you will need to call your insurance to request a Green Card.
